College of Notre Dame of Maryland
Joined the Laurel College Center
in April 2006.

In an agreement signing ceremony on April 27th, 2006, the College of Notre Dame of Maryland officially joined the Laurel College Center. The College of Notre Dame is now offering their Accelerated Business Administration Bachelors program at Laurel College Center.

The Laurel College Center is more than a traditional higher education center, because the partners are not only sharing space, they are sharing integrated and articulated programs.

The Laurel College Center significantly expands educational opportunities for the Laurel region. This partnership provides pathways for citizens with a variety of different needs – from workforce training, teacher education, allied health certifications or coursework through the associate degree to bachelor degrees and potentially the master degree. The center provides an important option for the citizens of the region at a time when the nearest transfer institutions, University of Maryland College Park and University of Maryland Baltimore County, are becoming increasingly more selective and restrictive in their admissions.

Towson University is now offering their master’s of math education at the Laurel College Center. UMUC offers courses in their bachelor’s of information systems management and is considering expanding its offerings.

The College of Notre Dame of Maryland is now offering its Accelerated Business Degree Program at the Laurel College Center

Moving on for your bachelor’s degree in business?  The College of Notre Dame of Maryland brought its Accelerated College business degree program to Laurel College Center in fall 2006.  Notre Dame’s Accelerated College degree program is designed to address the need of the working professional to compete their undergraduate degree more efficiently than most traditional programs.

Business majors can complete their bachelor’s degree in business here at the Laurel College Center in as few as two-and-a-half years studying on a part-time basis.  Students admitted to the program with at least 60 credits will also be able to earn their degree in about two-and-a-half years studying on a part-time basis.

  • Students take one course at a time; each course is five or seven weeks long.
  • Classes will meet for 4 hours each Thursday evening from 6:00 to 10:00 PM throughout the entire degree program

Each student becomes a member of a “cohort” upon admission to the program.  A cohort is a group of 20 to 25 women and men who advance through the program together.  Members of cohorts take all their classes together, learn together, support each other and graduate together.  Once a student commits to a cohort, his/her tuition rate is locked in and the rate will remain the same for the cohort until graduation.
