College of Notre Dame is recognized for its commitment to a liberal arts education, including strong teacher preparation and nursing degree programs and small class sizes. The Women’s College, the first Catholic college for women in the United States to award the four-year baccalaureate degree, offers 27 majors and is the women’s college in Maryland. Notre Dame was named to the “Great Schools, Great Prices” listing in America’s Best Colleges 2010. In fall 2009 the College welcomed its inaugural class to the School of Pharmacy. Weekend and Accelerated colleges offer part-time programs for working women and men. Graduate Studies in education, nursing, management, communication and liberal studies provide students with a focused contemporary curriculum.
College of Notre Dame of Maryland offers three degree programs in an accelerated cohort format at the Laurel College Center.
- Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration
- Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education/Liberal Arts
- Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education/Liberal Studies and Special Education Certification
The Accelerated College enables a student to earn a bachelor's degree in as little as two and a half years. Typically 20-25 students will become members of a “cohort” or group of students. -Members of the cohort advance through the program and take the same sequence of classes. -Students learn, encourage each other and graduate together.
Classes are either five or seven weeks in length and meet on the same day and at the same time each week for the duration of the program.

The Accelerated College business program was designed for busy working professionals who want to learn how to act ethically, think critically and creatively, and communicate effectively.
Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education/Liberal Arts
Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education/Liberal Studies and Special Education Certification
After completing the associate’s degree at PGCC, HCC or the Laurel College Center, students may complete College of Notre Dame of Maryland’s two bachelor degrees in Elementary Education.
